The Outdated News Network values the opinion of young individuals. In a world where old people keep winning the presidency and screwing things up, we thought it might be worth while to hit the college campuses and learn what students had to say about current affairs. However, because we only deal with outdated news, we brought up Suddam Hussein instead.
The Outdated News Network was surprised to learn that most students have no idea who Hussein is. This is very concerning to experts as it causes many to wonder how informed a younger generation would be if Hussein existed today. Would they even know if the tyrant was dictating their culture? "Probably not" said one fictional guy we made up while writing this article.
The greatest concern is that this man has tortured and killed many civilians objecting to his reign. How can the United States be of any help if the people are oblivious to his terror? A surprising 77% of students had no idea who Hussein is. An additional 13% said they vaguely remember something about a guy with that name, but only that he was captured when they were kids. Only 10% of participants actually knew he was a dictator.
We know what you are thinking. "10% has got to count for something right?" Not when you consider that those same people told us that the dictator is "old news!" They actually expressed no concern for the crimes Hussein has committed or the justice that should be brought to him. Others even stated that we have too many problems in modern society to worry about him.
"The guy was executed in 2006!" said Terrance Wilderberry, a two year student from Jefferson's Dry Cleaning and Delivery Services. "You are literally talking about a guy who died when I was 5 and acting like it's current. What is wrong with you people? I'm trying to work here!"
Experts don't know what to think about this careless ignorance among young individuals. Studies are being conducted at the University That Doesn't Exist to figure out how to resolve this issue.
