The Better Business Bureau is receiving a lot of attention from the media after rumors circulating that their ratings are based on membership fees. Accusations began circulating this week when a number of business owners complained that they weren't receiving fair treatment from the top consumer watchdog business.
A group of Los Angeles business owners brought evidence to this claim after paying over $400 to the Better Business Burau. This resulted in receiving an A minus for a business that does not even exist. Even worse, the business was clearly spelled "Hamas," a famous terrorist group known to treat their customers horribly.
The Better Business Burau defended themselves claiming that the rating for Hamas was clearly "a mistake." To them, it does not prove that their system rates people according to their subscription fees.
A demand letter has been sent to the Better Business Burau by Connecticut's Attorney General asking they change their grading system. It is unlikely the Burau will comply.
